The Expert VM 8x40 fully meets the requirements of enthusiasts (hunters, fishermen, gamekeepers, zoologists, ornithologists and nature conservation specialists) who use optics for professional purposes i.e. for those whose daily contact with wildlife, often in inclement and even extreme conditions, is an everyday experience.
The non-axial construction (both optical channels are in a single body) is very reliable: the binocular is highly resistant to shock loadings and vibration. The Expert’s carbon body is light whilst at the same time being made from one of the strongest composite materials.
The hermetically sealed body protects the binocular from rain, the ingression of a large body of water, such as a wave breaking over them, or even total immersion - accidental immersion in 1 m of water for up to 30 minutes. The nitrogen purged optical system prevents lenses from fogging in case of a sudden temperature drop. Exterior flat protective filters, installed in front of the objective lenses, shield the optics from sand, dust and moisture.
The Expert’s VM 8x40 optics feature high resolution, multicoated lenses that guarantee image clarity, realistic color rendition and the specially developed eyepiece provides high definition. The Expert VM 8x40 has an optimum magnification for mobile field use; its light-gathering power ensures trouble free operation both in the daytime and in twilight.
This variant of the Expert 8x40 offers viewing modes that can be changed by means of two interchangeable internal filters. The Contrast Mode is used in twilight conditions for enhanced image contrast and for visual fog reduction. Operation in the Reflection Mode minimizes, or neutralizes, the dazzling effect of light reflected from non-metallic surfaces (water, snow, ice and glass).
The eyepieces are adjustable allowing a comfortable interpupillary setting; the ergonomic eyecups protect the eye against lateral ambient light; the Eclipse-M lens caps are permanently connected to the binocular body so cannot be lost and they also protect the front optics from raindrops; the neck strap is attached to the binocular and can be immediately removed if necessary.
